To date Care & Share has contributed $6000.00 for the projects of the National Association for the blind in Bulsar, India. In 1993, Care & Share donated $10,000 to the Earthquake Relief Fund, to provide assistance to the earthquake victims in Lathur, India. Care & Share donated $2,250.00 to the Indian Medical Association, Cochin Chapter, to create awareness through education and help in the prevention of the spread of the HIV / AIDS epidemic in India. In 1994, as part of our Thanksgiving tradition, we had the opportunity to assist the poor and the homeless in the neighborhood by donating funds to the Olive Brach Mission of Chicago and Unity Mission of Chicago to serve food during the Thanksgiving Holidays.
In August 1995, Care & Share presented a check for $6,500.00 to the M.P. Shah Memorial Leprosy Hospital in Bhavnagar, India to provide treatment to the Leprosy patients in that area by opening six outpatient clinics. In November 1995, Care & Share along with its Youth Wing Volunteers served Thanksgiving lunch to the homeless at the Greater Harvest Mission in Chicago. In December 1996, Care & Share donated $15,000.00 to Providence Charity Trust, Kerala, India to provide professional counseling, proper accommodation and treatment for the mentally depressed. Providence Charity Trust is also working with our organization to combat the HIV / AIDS epidemics in that region.
In January 1997, Care & Share opened a chapter in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India for the purpose of monitoring and promoting our charitable activities in that region. Through this chapter we provided $11,000.00 to purchase HIV screening test kits to screen the blood donors free of cost in the region. This project is being conducted in cooperation with the Red Cross Society of Petlad, Gujrat, India. In May 1997, Care & Share contributed $6,500.00 to the Madresa Mohamediayah Panjataniaya Society, Dahod, Gujarat, India for purchase of computer equipment for training poor students. In August 1997, Care & Share donated $3000.00 to the Karuna Trust; Ahmedabad, India to provide free portable X-ray services to poor patients.
Care & Share contributed $7,500.00 to Thakkar Datta Charitable Trust for opening a free clinic in Gorghoan, Hariyana, India, for the purpose of providing free eye screening, treatment facilities and in creating an HIV / AIDS education program to prevent the spread of this dreaded disease. Care & Share is currently focused on curtailing the HIV / AIDS epidemic in India. We call upon all of you to support us to make this mission a great success. Your generous support and participation in this humanitarian cause will help the needy and save many lives. In May 1999, Care & Share donated $5000 to Greater Chicago Red Cross Society for Kosovo Refugee Relief Fund. Since 1999, Care & Share served 'Thanksgiving meal' to poor and homeless at Chicago's Mother Teresa Soup Kitchen.
Care and Share International was actively involved in the Gujarat Earthquake of January 2001. We were fortunate to raise funds to build homes for the people those who lost their homes during the earthquake. We built a water tank for the neighborhood community for their drinking water. We are committed to assist to rebuild this village at a cost of $75,000.00. On May 2002 partial housing construction has been completed and the water tank has put to service. 163 homes we delivered to the people by giving them the house keys. One medical clinic and a library is also in the planning of development. We are continuing our endeavor to keep our commitment to the needy. In October 2000, Care & Share provided $5000 to its chapter in Kerala, India as seed money to establish HIV / AIDS awareness and prevention of this deadly disease.
In November 2000, Care & Share donated $10,000 to Orissa Soceity of America to build community center / cyclone shelter for the victims of cyclone. In February 2002, Care & Share donated $5000 to Kalyan Hospital to provide limbs to the disabled and offer assistance to other infirm. In March 2002, Care & Share donated $50,000 to Chicago Township project to build about 50 homes and a water tank for the community in Bhuj, India that was devastated in the worst earthquake. In April 2002, Care & Share donated $5000 to "Under the Umbrella" organization Jamanagar, India to assist the blind people with rehabilitation and training. Within a very short time Care & Share has earned its place among the notable charitable organization in the world. New chapters of the organization are being formed in major cities both here and abroad. We are continuously striving to improve Care & Share. 'Inspiring the generosity of the human spirit' |
